Last Day On Earth

I don't know about you, but I have a list of things I want to do/accomplish/create before I die....
-road trip up the West Coast
-memorize more of God's Word
-hold a Koala
-host a consistent Bible Study
-go on a helicopter ride
-learn to surf
-own a home that everyone feels invited to
-etc. etc. etc.

I desire to do these things + so much more.. BUT! In actuality, I'm not doing much to get anything crossed off that list.. and if I am, there is no sense of urgency.

Life gets busy and our attention goes elsewhere. At least for me, I push those things off and wait for a "better day". I wait for a different phase of my life where I'll be more ready and capable.  I wait because I want to look a different way first.  I wait because I'm scared of failing. I wait.

But here's the thing, I could die tomorrow.  This could be my last day on earth & it could very well be your last day, too.  Sorry to get all dark, but it's only truth.  We have no guarantee on living a super long life. This thought makes me feel challenged and restless... because if it is my last day on earth, what did I do to make today count? To make this year count? To make this life count? If you died tomorrow would you look back on your life and be happy with your accomplishments, actions, words, & legacy?

Now please don't get all sad thinking about dying, but instead feel motivated and hopeful..
Do those things that you keep making up excuses not do do. Tell your family how much you love them.  Go on that missions trip. Invest in meaningful and important relationships. Let your creativity run wild. Do the thing you thought would be impossible. Explore. Face a fear.

It's so easy to get wrapped up in everyday chores and schedules that we forget to make life fun and exciting.  It's possible to make an ordinary life feel extraordinary!!

Let me preach for a second:
If you're breathing and alive (which I'm guessing you are), then you have a purpose.  There's a reason you're still on this earth- and I pray that you take advantage of the life you're given and live it abundantly.
^^ SIDE NOTE: living an abundant life doesn't mean becoming rich, becoming well known, or getting to ignore responsibilities... it means becoming content with what you've been blessed with & using what you have to serve God and love others. It's realizing that you already have all that you need.. and because of that you can be filled with joy no matter the circumstance.

You are not guaranteed tomorrow. So please don't wait around for a better day. Make today a better day.
If you feel lost/lonely/anxious, then seek Jesus. He is waiting for you to come back to Him.
If you're stuck in a cycle of comparison because you don't have a lot of followers on instagram or you don't look like someone else- so what?! If we're living for men/women's approval, then we'll NEVER be enough.

Please don't waste this beautiful life. You may not feel blessed right now, I've been there too.. but let me tell ya: every single breath is a blessing. The fact that we're loved by the maker of the world is a blessing (times a gazillion)

I challenge you to live your life with urgency.  I challenge you to adventure & love the people around you & find contentment where you're at.  Do the things on your bucket list. It could be your last day on earth.

Lots of love,
Addi Kamp
